1,71 changing game settings

Submitted by malakar on Wed, 2008-04-02 08:12. Space Empires V General

I just loaded the 1.71 upgrade and started playing a saved game and now there is a limit of 100 Satilites per sector that was not there before. Is there a way to change it back without starting a new game? Is this a bug I should put in the bug forum?

Access Violation Error

Submitted by Orion Shadow on Wed, 2008-04-02 11:30.

I get an Access Violation Error when I check the Empires Comparisons screen.
Access Violation at address 00542469 in module 'SE5.exe'. Read of address 0000004A

I am using ver 1.71 with Balance Mod 1.14 FQM 14. with 2 Star Trek races.

Multiple Installs

Submitted by Evil Wayne on Wed, 2008-04-02 13:13. Space Empires IV General

I want to install a second copy of SE:IV in another directory for a pbw-mod game. Despite being a long time player, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right and don't want to mess up my original install.

Actually, my original CD has that bug where autoplay wants to reinstall it every time I put it in, so I guess I could just designate a new folder, but if I want to patch it up to Deluxe, will the patch know where to go? I don't want to overwrite anything I've had installed since the dawn of time.

Thanks.

Several bugs

Submitted by Twad on Wed, 2008-04-02 14:30. Bug Reports

Okay..

1- Im playing in a game with about 8 CPUs (in a large cluster map i generated an placed only 6 start locations in.., no neutrals, medium number of CPUs, galaxy already explored for everyone, on hard), and i allowed in the game settup that all players could see everyone else score.. (i wanted to see how i was faring against the CPUs) and whenever i try to look at the comparison chart in the empires "page", the game crash to desktop with an access violation to XYZ file. By the way, i got the game via steam.

2- For some reason.. maybe because i reduced the game in the taskbar, whenever i go in my ship design page and i take a peek in the space simulator.. all the icons for my ships vanish, are replaced by various pics of random races (that change frequently if i go in and out of there), then all the pics of my ships on the leftside of the ship designs are just gone, only the name remains.

Submitted by Romulus68 on Wed, 2008-04-02 17:12. Space Empires V FAQs

Can you open more than one warp point in the same sector in SEV?

In SE4 you could.

Auto moving ships once constructed.

Submitted by dawilko on Wed, 2008-04-02 17:26. Space Empires V FAQs

Hi guys i've done a search and coulden't find the answer for this one, so here I go.

I have worked out how to set waypoints and tell a planet to "move" to it by selecting the planet and pressing "1-9", but once I build ships from that planet the ships don't move anywhere. I am odviously doing this wrong, can anyone shed some light on this?
