Does anyone know how the:

Weapons Range Short
Weapons Range Medium
Weapons Range Long

Parameters in the Settings.txt file work?

Is it like:

Anything below the Weapons Range Short value is considered as Point blank, anything between the Weapons Range Short and the Weapons Range Medium values is considered as Short Range and so on ?

Or is it:

Point Blank is 0 and anything below Weapons Range Short is Short range, anything between Weapons Range Short and Weapons Range Medium is Medium ?

or maybe completely different?

What i am trying to do is to add more combat influence to the ship strategies, the influence at the moment is marginal at its best.

New PBW game - Rise of War (6 players)

I'm starting a new SEV1.71 BM1.14a game on PBW, 5 or 6 players, and would like to invite players (with experience in PBW matches) to join.

Please be aware of the following game settings:
Small galaxy (30 systems)
High Tech cost
5000 Racial points
500k Tech points

The premise of this game is to limit rapid technological growth and hopefully make for a more realistic progression of an empire's expansion among the stars. This will be done by setting the tech cost to high and having a small map containing 30 systems between 5 or 6 players, so space will be limited and therefore the ability to research will be slower. Decisions on the direction of research, balancing research/security/offensive potential, and maintaining a growing economy should be all the more important.

Negative Planet Values

Simple question, do negative planet values work??

ie, if I give the range of -50 to 200% for planet values (mineral/farm/rads) will it do anything?? (will the planet naturally cost more of that type or will it only do something if say a monolith facility is built?)
