One shipset to another

Tempted to start playing again but had a question. Went back to spaceempires.net and re-dled all the old ship sets and alot of the new ones and the question popped in my head. Can I move a ship from one set to be used in another? ANd if yes, how? Actually, because I'm a fan of multi sizes (ie: Light carrier, carrier, heavy carrier) are the AIs in the various mods smart enough to upgrade from one size to another? Primarially I use BM but thinking of trying afew of the others or even just merging and making a super cool mod once I find one with the best (read most challanging) AI.. any suggestions on mods? I've DLed the current BM, Crimson Concept, Dark Nova, EvilMod and Scorched Space.

Fleet Resupply Issues

Hi;

is there anyway to 'redistribute supplies troughout the fleet'?

I had a second (fully supplied fleet) join up with a out of supply fleet. And I want to spread the feul evenly, so I can reach a supply deport planet nearby.

Is there an automatic way for this?
Is there a alternative manual way for this?

It's PBW, so every turn counts...

Especially because I'm facing warmongering nations South, West and North! Every ship counts Sticking out tongue

Lots of errors

Hi guys, i've played SE since III but SEV has me real stuck. I stopped playing when it was first released use to the bug where all the ordenance disapeared if you had a shit that didn't use ordenace in your fleet.

Now that's fixed (yay) i returned and got the lastest patch (1.71?)

However now there are countless more bugs to the point I cannot put up with it.

1)Starbases, Why do they not shoot?? I had one tooled up and it just sat there. Tried it in space design, still just sat there. I have all the requirements for it (obveously) so why is it not fighting back??

2)Drones. Half the time these things will fly AWAY from the enemy!!! and will refuse orders to engage!

I only got this game for two weeks now and its pretty dam good, I noticed there's a good deal of freedom in editing the settings however when selecting an avatar for your race I was disapointed that there was no way to include other materials other then the avatars already provided. Is there a mod in the works or one already that enables you to include more images into the avatar gallery for flags or races?

THanks for clearing up my other problems guys, but if you have a moment can I get an answer for a few more questions?

1) I had a station that was all but destroyed. I managed to repair it but it still has 0 crew. How can I replenish the crew as you cannot "transport" them?

2) I can't seem to check my empires happyness. I'm just missing it i'm sure but i've had two ships gone rouge (and I assume this is the cause!)

Unable to unmothball bases

While playing 1.71 with BM 1.14a I have mothballed bases that I cannot seem to unmothball. I give them the command and the message comes up telling me the resource cost to ummothball but then they are not unmothballed the next turn. This is a simlutanious MP game played using the PBW server.

Shipset Creator Program?

Just wondering (and yes, I'm useless at programming). If the makers of the various utilities out there (map makers, modmakers, etc.) could make a 'shipset creator'. By this I mean a little do-dad of a program that would re-name and change files if a person wanted to make a shipset out of various ships cobbled from other shipsets (stock or otherwise) without the hassle of manually re-naming everything (especially when people like me arn't sure what all goes with the darn thing, se4 shipsets were so much easier to mix and match).

Personally I'd love to have a shipset with my favorites from different creators and stock so I could play my Mercinary race but I have no real idea where to start or finish.

Trouble choosing which mod

I am having trouble choosing which mod to get behind for several reasons.

First is knowing which mods are still active, and if active, how active.

The second is understanding what each mod is trying to achieve.

I hope that this thread will hopefully allow me and others to better know the current SE V mods. I hope to discuss the pro’s and con’s of each mod so that I and other’s can better decide which mod most suits our playing style.

I am an old 4x from the Atari ST days (1987-1990 odd) and love the building of an empire.

I have also never played the game unmoded and only started playing a few weeks ago.

Interstellar Wars

It is said that the Ukra Tak have been plagued by wars since their journey into space but they are rarely the aggressors. This may be true but in this case, they created the circumstances for war.

In 2405, the Ukra Tak Collective have expanded to the extent that they already have 80 planets spanning ten star systems. This expansion has brought them into range of the Terran Federation. The Humans have now colonised 15 planets spanning three systems.

In 2406, The Ukra Tak forge a treaty with the Terrans. In exchange for trade and technology, the Humans will allow the Ukra Tak to colonise planets within Federation borders.
