Negative costs

Does anyone know what happens if you set some cost to be negative? For example:

Battle Pods: 100 minerals, 100 Radioactives, -20 kT.

Does this work? Does it cause bugs? anyone know?

Creating the Peace

Alien races throw treaties at you left or right, however i have a problem, well two, both connected and perhaps both with a soultion.

A lot of treaties given to me are impractical such as make no treaty with anyone else, which dosen't work in my favour when there are twenty other races around me. So as soon as i reject it, they reject my peace treaty (a bog standard non aggression, no sustem colonising in either system) when i offer a gift it 'offends' them.

Sometime i am at war with other races and there is one race who have dragged me down and near exausted my resources. Again, offer a gift, it offends them, offer them a treaty and they reject it.

Modding Component Size Requirements

Is there a way(in stock and in BM) to restrict a ship component to:

a given hull type(frigate, dreadnaut, etc)
a hull size or larger(500kt+, etc)

The reason i ask is that I also believe that larger ships get the shaft over smaller ones and i'd like to create a set of larger ship components that do a much better job for a larger ship. A few ideas would be armor and shields that have more HPs or weapons with slightly better range for the equivalent tech.

Balance Mod suggestion

This is a minor thing, but i suggest that the following ColonyTypes be added:

Solar Generation Colony
Storage Depot

I'm sure i could come up with some more, but I have been playing Crystaline lately and i use the first one in every trinary system i run across. And storage depots for every all mineral(org & rad) storage planet i have as well.

Formulas - modding

I've noticed this in some of the mods:

Tonnage Space Taken Formula F:Number A formula which returns the amount of tonnage space that this component takes on a vehicle.

But i cannot find out where the formula is set. Any help ?

Shipsets, Empires, and dead AIs

Is there any way to add a shipset that can be used by human players but that won't get picked for an AI, which then sits and does nothing until you conquer it?

I think I saw this even in stock, but it's a big problem using the BM because there's no chance at all that the AI scripts would be right.

The first time this happened, I figured it was a bad AI script so I deleted all the compiled scripts from the offending "Empires" subdirectories. I expected that the generic neutral race AI would be used. But it still happened. Am I on the right track, and I just have to delete some of the .txt files (racial settings, etc.) too?
