Ships' shields don't recover between battles in the same turn

Description

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature. SEIV doesn't work that way. The title pretty much states the problem, but is not to be confused with regeneration issues, if any. I haven't tried shield regenerators yet.

It is intentional. Shields will fully regenerate over a game turn though.

Shield Regenerators work fine, but they do not stack.

Shield regenerators don't work between combats in my experience, they only work in combat, mind you the old Life of Brian defence (running in circles having the enemy chase you) works wonders here. This also applies for Organic Armour.

So shields do not regenerate between battles, even with a regenerator, but they regenerate during battles with a regenerator?

That makes zero sense. Should be classed as a datafile bug IMO and passed to mod team.

Otherwise I want to shoot my own ships each turn to enter combat mode to get shields back.

Heh .. Organic Armor is similar. It only regenerates during battle. It won't regenerate between battles (or from one turn to the next, which is different for shields).

Totaly agree! It should be fixed!

What's the time frame between 2 battles on the same sector? zero? That's what the current implementation suggests, But if a ship or fleet moves even 1 square, the time frame is definitely not zero.

Perhaps Aaron should add a "recharge shields" order that costs a movement point? in the sense that movement points = time resource. Or make it like SE:IV was.
