Can't apply 1.35 patch - Italian retail version |
I purchased SE5 a few days ago in a store.
I tried to apply 1.35 patch but I always had the following message:
"Your SE5 Version does not match an older version required by this patch. Please reinstall SE5 and then attempt to install the patch."
Some info:
- The version displayed in the game is 1.30 (this is the version of se5.exe file too), but in History.txt and Readme.txt files is mentioned 1.33; this is the installation version (I didn't apply any patch).
- I reinstalled the game several times with the same result.
Do anyone have an idea, or already solved a similar problem?

The one thing I really hate about SEV
I really loathe the abominable DRM included in SEV.
It is the one thing I really hate about this game.
Had the same problem with applying 1.25 (downloaded by Digital River) until they fixed it in 1.25 R2. After a lot of pestering Strategy First customer support and complaining to Aaron.
Probably the guys are not even aware there is a problem.
When will any software outfit learn that any DRM just hurts their paying customers?

I think he means Digital Rights Management or something like that. Basically something to try and stop piracy.

1.30 was a beta between 1.25 and 1.33, (not an officially released version), so lord knows whats going on. Try getting the retailer to replace it if no one here's able to help.
