Races

Submitted by Tilarium on Sun, 2007-10-14 16:46. SE:V MODs

How do I keep the game from adding certain races when it picks the opposing forces? I've got a bunch of DLed races/shipsets I'm going to make custom races for and loading them in as I want during the game set up and so also beable to fine tune them as I need to. Would hate to have the computer pick one of those races while I have my custom version of that race.

In the race's AI_Main.txt file, change the setting allowing the empire for AI selection.

Is Empire Race := TRUE
Is Available For Player Selection := TRUE
Is Neutral Race := FALSE

Making all of them false should prevent the AI from using the shipset for an empire.

I think you just need the second one (player selection) to be true to use it as a player empire, but I am not sure:

Is Empire Race := FALSE
Is Available For Player Selection := TRUE
Is Neutral Race := FALSE

If that doesn't work, you will need to set Is Empire Race to true as well:

Is Empire Race := TRUE
Is Available For Player Selection := TRUE
Is Neutral Race := FALSE

If so, only set both to true for the shipset you wish to use for the current game, and set the others you do not wish the AI to use to false for all 3 settings.
