Unable to load game

Description

Hi, could someone please help with the following problem. I have a major issue. We have been playing a game every weekend for weeks now and have progressed well with our empires. We save it one night and it comes up the next day when we resume with the message 'Unable to load game file C:Program Files/Empire Interactive/ Malfador Machinations/ Space Empires V/ Savegame/ Jonpatnandynbackup.gam'. This has happened on more than one occasion now and i will not tolerate starting again for the third time i would like this issue resolved. I have read that this has occured to other people and i hope that this is a site that will help me sort it out because i am at breaking point.

I am disgusted that such a good game is ruined by this. In essence i have bought a game i cannot complete when it pulls this stunt. So if you can help me in any way resolve this crisis as soon as possible i would most appreciate it. I hope someone can help me as i am a big fan of the game and i enjoy it so much especially when playing with friends but i will not be happy with me being told i wasted time on this game and that nothing can be done.
