Devnullmod 1.71.3.1

HI,

Loaded this mod as well as the multimedia pack and I have a couple of issues.

When I use Devnullmod I get planets for warp points and stars. It appears OK in Balmod.

Secondly, when using the Devnullmod I have resource problems. 3 planets are rioting as they have no resources, yet I have an overall surplus of minerals, orgainics and Radioactives. One of the planets has 2 orgainic and 2 radioactive plants with planet resource levels well over 100%. I can't see how to get resources to them.

I like the logic of this mod as far as minaturisation with higher tech levels. But I am concerned that there are no plasma missiles.

Well it sounds like you haven't got the latest planet pack. It's not used, as far as I know, in BM. You said you had the latest Multimedia packs though.

If there's a bit of confusion, the planets have no resources because they are rioting, not the other way around, rioting because they have no resources. The latest version has a redone happiness system which appears to quickly throw planets into rioting, although last I was told that was fixed.

We haven't had a chance to get beyond the first turn in the test game as yet. I wasn't aware Plasma missiles had been changed to any great degree, though it doesn't surprise me in the least considering the trouble we've had with them in the past. If you are by chance refering to any trouble placing them on drones or something I can very much guess what's happened. Drones with Plasma missiles completely unbalanced combat. We, by which myself and my ally in testing the combat system to its limits, discovered the overwhelming advantage of a couple of dozen drones firing a couple of dozen plasma missiles vs mere warships.

Where exactly did you install the MMP? SE5\Pictures? SE5\Gametypes\Devnull\Pictures? The MMP packs are meant to be installed in the stock SE5\Pictures folder.

Hi Fyron, thanks for the reply.

As mentioned I like the ideas you are introducing with this mod.

Yep installed in SE5\pictures folder although I did have some issues with the unzip and I had to put some of the files into the folders manually. In hindsight this maybe my problem, will reinstall. Vista Ultimate can be a pain file wise.

As to plasma missiles I don't bother with drones, I like to go head to head with enemy ships. Don't even use carriers that much, again once you get to the advanced tech they are to devistating. But my favoured armament is beam and plasma missiles. Normally I can research chemistry level 2 (I think) and then plasma missles are available to research.

I am keen to get further into the game to see if the miniturisation of-sets the real disadvantage of bigger ships. I don't normally build anything larger than a cruiser as it gets nailed to easly. With ECM the cruiser has the benefits of the smaller ships with enough room to give it some real fire power.

Yeah, sorry about that Randallw. I wrongly assumed both responses were from Fyron. But didn't notice till after I posted the reply. I definiately don't consider you chopped liver.
