Changing population bonuses

Yeah. Thats true, but usualy these modifiers from population are not big, so not doing it is not catastrophy. But every research/intel point counts, so its worth doing.
On the other hand, realy important facilities should not be on small/tiny planets, becose you cannot put much defense there. And early game you should build those facilities when you need them (eg. not need storage anyway), plus population is not maxed.
But for late game optimalization its good idea, if you can provide enough protection.

btw. i changed pop. bonuses to be sqrt(pop/1000) SY rate and sqrt(sqrt(pop/200)) and with this change its MUCH more important and interesting game (pop is in M of course).

So where and what exactly do i do to change the population bonus to that.. is it at the end of settings.txt

Number Of Population Modifiers := 101
Pop Modifier 1 Population Amount := 19
Pop Modifier 1 Production Modifier Percent := 100
Pop Modifier 1 SY Rate Modifier Percent := 100
Pop Modifier 2 Population Amount := 39
Pop Modifier 2 Production Modifier Percent := 101
Pop Modifier 2 SY Rate Modifier Percent := 101
Pop Modifier 3 Population Amount := 59

or do i put it somewhere else. And what exactly do i put..?

You only have to replace the current entries in settings.txt with your custom ones.

Look at the modding tools here:
http://wiki.spaceempires.net/index.php/Mods_(SEV)#Modding_Tools

Download the population modifiers tool by SuicideJunkie, it will generate the entries you want for you based on a formula you enter. It would take forever otherwise. Sticking out tongue

If the pop bonuses were much more significant I may stop most of my glassing and give invasions more thought. Smiling

thats exactly why I chose to do it.. Population will actually mean something. Anyone have a good formula that works well for them?
